Mary Keehn wanted healthful milk for her children and began raising Alpine goats in the 1970s. As her herd expanded she received notoriety as America’s premier breeder of Alpine goats. As her stock grew she had an unexpected consequence...... surplus milk. Mary soon began dabbling with cheese a making in her own kitchen. In 1983 Mary made the move from kitchen cheese maker to cheese maker entrepreneur. Patience, hard work and a commitment to quality paid off and over time, a large, loyal following began to seek out the Cypress Grove label. Today many of Mary’s innovations have been awarded international excellence.
